Mithran Jawahar, the director well known
for his romantic remake films like Yaradi Nee Mohini, is now out with
yet another one. This film Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai is the official
remake of superhit Malayalam movie Thattathin Marayadhu.
Plot:
The
film is a love story between a hindu boy and a muslim girl. Mithran
Jawahar has used the same plot of the Malayalam version, but has made
few changes to suit the nativity of Tamilnadu.
Vinodh (Walter
Philips) who has a obsession over purdah after watching Maniratnam's
Bombay, falls for Ayesha (Isha Talwar) at the first sight.
Though if he manages to impress her, will her family accept their love? Get the answer in the bigscreens.
Performances:
The
director has retained most part of the cast from the original version,
including heroine Isha Talwar and Manoj K Jayan as Police officer and
Vanitha Krishnachandran as Vinodh's mother.
Walter Philips, the
young man who reprised the role played by Nivin Pauly, has impressed
with his acting in the movie, which marks his dubut.
Arjunan, who
plays hero's friend evokes laughter with his one liners.Other actors
like Nassar, Thalaivasal Vijay have done justice to their roles.
What's hot and what is not:
The
background score is a huge plus for the movie, and only few of
G.V.Prakash's songs mesmerises us. It is to note that the director has
retained the background score of Shaan Rahman from the original version.
Cinematography
by Vishnu Sharma and editing by Thiyagarajan was decent enough. As the
director has completely adopted the Malayalam version into Tamil, it
lacked nativity, and several logical loopholes adds to mystery
Verdict:
On the whole, the film will surely delight the young audience, who have not watched the original version.
Cast: Arjunan Nandakumar, Isha Talwar, Sangili Murugan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Vidyulekha Raman
Music:
G.V.Prakash Kumar
