Several days ago a female journalist has alleged that the fans of
actor Vijay have been abusing her for her remarks about Sura movie. She
has also filed a complaint with Chennai Police comissioner. The police
have already filed charges aginst four of the abusers. Meanwhile
actor Vijay has released a press statement asking everyone to respect
everyothers freedom of speech and he also urged his fans to respect
women and not abuse anyone. Vijay said in his statement “I am
someone who respects women a lot. Everybody has the right to criticise
anyone’s film. It is my view that no woman should be spoken of in a
demeaning way for any reason or any time. Everyone has to praise
womanhood.”
